WORD has been implementing various projects especially in HIV/AIDS in Namakkal District in various of its dimensions like creating awareness, counselling support services, intervention efforts among high risk groups ( truckers, female sex workers, industrial workers, migrants, drug users) and providing community and home based care and support for the HIV/AIDS infected and affected people including children.

During its course of implementation of various projects on STI and HIV/AIDS, WORD felt the need to reach out more number of young people in Namakkal District especially the students in the colleges who have more number of myths and misconcepts on STI and HIV/AIDS. They also don't know the technical and scientific knowledge on STI and HIV/AIDS. 

As mostly they access to internet, WORD initiated its efforts to reach out with the awareness on STI and HIV/AIDS, provide counselling and guidance and render necessary technical information through a comprehensive website, http://www.namakkal.weebly.com.
