Keeping in mind that accessibility to education is a fundamental right to children, WORD is running a residential school for children who have limited access to education with the family set up in Namakkal District as part of its blooming buds project. The residential school is being supported by Terre des Hommes, Netherlands from November 2007. The short stay residential home is situated in an beautiful ambience in Teachers Colony of Porasapalayam village on Thummankurichi Road, Namakkal.
TdH NL also supports WORD for the construction of the resdiential home and the vocational training center. The building was inaugurated on November 23, 2009 by Mr. Lei Brouns, Regional Director- TdHNL, South Asia in a glittering ceremony in the presence of Mr. Meru Miller, Program Officer, TdHNL, India.
Currently 60 children are benefitting from our residential school. There are two teachers besides a warden to take care of the residential school.
8 students from the residential school have got admission in Mathagondappalli Model School (MMS) in Hosur for Class III for the academic year 2010-2011.
