SCINDeA Network Activities
Under the South Central India Network for Development Alternatives (SCINDeA) network, the following projects are being implemented at present.
1. Empowering of Community through people's participation (EcoPP).
2. Participatory Community Based Sanitation Program.
3. Mainstreaming of HIV/AIDS in the development work project.
The integrated community development project is are being implemented in 30 villages Pallipalayam Block in Namakkal District. The major activities include Community Health Development, Integrated child Health, Socio-Economic development for rural youth and women, Environmental health & protection, sanitation and sustainable agriculture and eco development initiatives.
Under the participatory community based sanitation program, the major activities include the sensitisation program on sanitation and constructions of low cost household toilets.
The major activities under mainstreaming of HIV/AIDS program are sensitization, medical camp, formation and promotion of red ribbon clubs in schools, promotion of care givers, identification and promotion of peer educators, STI identification- referals for treatment, monthly need assessment/support group meeting for PLWHAs, organizing BCC events and Economic promotion activities of PLWHAs.
