Microscale CDM Project of WORD| The path so far...
Ms. Sudha, CDM Specialist along with Mr. Chethan & Mr. Mayank Gupta from Tech Team reviewed the field tested Biogas survey forms of WORD & other Coalition Partners @ WORD, Pallipalayam on 9 June 2011.
Mr. Mayank Gupta from the Tech Team of Fair Climate Network visited WORD from 12-13th of July 2011 to assess the interim progress in the survey. He made field visits, interacted with the beneficiaries and had interactions with the District Forest Officer, District Statistics Officer and the Non-Conventional Energy Deparment Officials in Namakkal District.
WORD attended the hands on training on tristle software solutions to manage CDM biogas project held at Bagepalli from 23rd-25th August 2011.
Mr. Chethan from Tech Team-Fair Climate Network visited the project site on 15th November 2011. He did the field survey at Veerappampalayam in Trichengode Taluk and Akkaraipatty in Namakkal Taluk regarding the CDM bio gas project.
Mr. Mayank Gupta from Tech Team, Bangalore visited WORD on 30 Nov-1 Dec 2011 to assist the firewood survey of the CDM Biogas project.
The GS stakeholders meeting held on 6th January 2012 at WORD Office in Namakkal. 152 stakeholders were attended the meeting.
The cow dung moisture content was also tested in the Animal Feed Analytical and Quality Assurance Lab of TN Veterinary & Animal Sciences University in Namakkal. Three days cow dung survey was undertaken in the selected beneficiary families from 1-3, March 2012.
Mr. Pradeep Esteves, and Mr. Vivy Thomas from the NGO Dynamics Team of FCN and Mr. Abid Passa from ADATS visited WORD and discussed about the CDM project preparatory works and the data monitoring solution software progress on May 14, 2012.
The Validation Process of this project was carried out on May 23, 2012. The Validation team from TUV Rheinland (India) Pvt Ltd visited the project sites in Tiruchengode, Paramathy Velur, Rasipuram and Namakkal Taluks.
The mid term review meeting held in ADATS, Bagepalli from 23rd-24th July 2012.
The Host Country Approval for this project obtained from the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.
Mr. Mohsin Khan, Project Manager, Fair Climate Network along with Ms. Maya from Germany who works for Bridge Builder -one of the FCN member visited WORD from 16-17th October 2012 and hold discussions with the project team and interacted with the end users.
The team of WORD went to SEDS NGO, Ananthpur for an exposure visit from 2nd & 3rd November 2012.
WORD attended the PAN India LCF meeting organised by FCN Network and held at ADATS campus from 10th-11th November 2012.
This Project has been submitted to UNFCCC for the approval on 21 November 2012.
The training for the Masons for the biogas unit construction held from 5th Feb 2013- 8th Feb 2013 at ADATS, Bagepalli.
The Project has got registered with UNFCCC. We will now build 5000 biogas units with the selected end user families in Namakkal District.
Ms. Gita Peters, Project Manager from Fair Climate Network visited WORD and visited the project sites from 18-21 March, 2013 and 17-18 April 2013 to assess the project preparedness.
Mr. Mohsin Khan, Projects Manager from Fair Climate Network has visited WORD from June 19- 1 July, 2013 to assess the project preparedness. He had discussions with the project staff on project planning, team structures, material supply details, socio-demographic survey details, ongoing activities in the project and end user selection criteria etc., He visited the field along with the project staff, discussed about Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) with the staff team, met with the end users and the community members.
Mrs. M. Renida Sarala, Director, WORD met the group of masons in Puzhavarpalayam village in Namakkal on 30 June 2013 and oriented them about the biogas construction and identified the masons for the upcoming training program at ADATS, Bagepalli.
The biogas coalition partners of SCINDeA- BEST, SACRED, WORD and CROSS met on 3rd July 2013 @ WORD, Namakkal to discuss the preparatory process before signing the ERPA with Fair Climate Services Ltd. Dr. Sheila Benjamin, Executive Director, SCINDeA chaired the meeting.
WORD sensitised the farmers on the domestic biogas program organised at Pallamparai village, next to Pachudayampatti village in Sendhamangalam, Namakkal on 19th July 2013.
The Pre ERPA training for the 4 SCINDeA biogas partners held ADATS, Bagepalli from 21-23 July 2013. The Director, Project-in-charge, Accountants, IT in charge attended the training program on WORD's behalf.
2 Accountants from WORD went for training from 12-15 August 2013 to ADATS, Bagepalli to learn the ERPA accounts.
The end user meetings in the villages were conducted prior to the construction of the biogas units in the 2 trial sites. The construction of biogas units have started from 22 August 2013 in Kuthanatham & Pilikipalayam village in Namakkal District. The trained masons train the local masons in the construction of the biogas units in the construction site. All the 50 biogas units were constructed and commissioned in these two villages.
In a landmark partnership, FCN entered an agreement with Indigo Airlines, through which the passengers of Indigo airlines can now contribute Rs 100 per PNR to support the climate mitigation projects developed by FCN.
A five days capacity building training program have been organised by FCN on Business Management held in Indian Institute of Management- Bangalore from 12-16 May, 2014.
WORD hosted a 4 days ToT program for NGO Trainers in Namakkal from 13-16 August 2014 organised by Best Practices Foundation and FCN. Ms. Sudha Menon from Best Practices Foundation, Bangalore trained the participants on Communication and IT.
WORD hosted a 4 days subgroup training program for WORD, SUCHI and IFDP NGOs from 7-10, January 2015. Mr. Thomas Peter from Best Practices Foundation trained the participants on Basic English, Communications and IT.
WORD participated a 8 days training program at ADATS, Bagepalli from 21-28, January 2015. The training was on Public Speaking, Professional writing, inter cultural communication and IT skills.
WORD hosted a 4 days training program in Namakkal from February 18-21 on Value Chain Management for the NGOs within Fair Climate Network. This training was facilitated by the trainers from Best Practices Foundation, Bangalore.
The GPS recording has been done for the biogas units with the support of our partner organisation, BEST. Soon this will be featured in the FCN PAN India map.
EWDE, Germany has signed the ERPA with WORD to build 1600 biogas units in Namakkal District.
Ms. Kirsten Gade from EWDE, Germany has visited WORD from 27-28 March 2016 to assess the progress at the ground level.
