WORD voluntarily acts as a lead NGO partner in Namakkal District mobilizing the support of the Civil Society, Government and elected representatives to create an effective tobacco control coalition in Tamilnadu. This project is lead by Navajeevan Trust based at Tirunelveli and supported by The Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use Grants.
Tamilnadu Alliance is a Coalition of NGOs working to improve the conditions of young adolescent workers in the textile sectors of TamilNadu. This is the largest umbrella organization of NGOs working in the Textile Sector in Tamilnadu.

WORD is part of Interim Working Group, a network of NGOs, experts and social development professionals which is presently co-ordinated by Swaniti Initiative based at New Delhi and currently we work with the Trafficking Bill, Human Trafficking, Address Human Rights Violations, Improve Anti Human Trafficking Units and Victim Compensation measures. Continued Co-ordinated services include with the State and District Legal Services Authorities.
WORD is a part of Multi Stake Holder Initiative in Tamilnadu in order to foster cooperation and partnership between various stakeholders to ensure fair, ethical and sustainable labour practices in the garment and textile industries across Tamil Nadu.
WORD works extensively in Erode and Namakkal Districts under MSI-TN. |
