WORD- Tailoring Training Center
WORD- Tailoring Training Center, Namakkal
WORD runs tailoring centers both in Namakkal and Pallipalayam to impart fashion designing in Namakkal District. These centers were initiated with the support of Terre des Hommes, Netherlands.
Currently this center provides the following courses.
- Certificate Course in Fashion Technology.
- Certificate Course in Embroidery.
As a follow up effort, WORD links the trainees by providing the job work to earn extra income. Linkages were established with the garment units in and around Namakkal.
In an effort to reach out more rural outreach, we have started functioning with extension training centers (ETC) in villages.
The ETC established in Thindamangalam village in Namakkal District from 3 July 2014- 31 January 2015 followed in Siluvampatti village from 1 Feb 2015-30 August 2015. From 22 September - 24 December, it has functioned in Ernapuram village.
